Title: SQRT vs sqrt?
Post by: Jennifer on July 28, 2020, 02:55:03 AM
I started to enter a square root expression. I got as far as "=sqrt" and Visio offered me 4 choices:
I understand that SQRTPI and IMSQRT are different functions, but why do I get both a lowercase and an uppercase version? After entering each, they both convert to uppercase.

Hi, Jenifer!

You mean ShapeSheet function SQRT (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/client-developer/visio/sqrt-function)?
Where you find SQRTPI and IMSQRT?

You can write name of ShapeSheet function in lowercase or uppercase, Visio engine make it to uppercase. You can find same
behavior with MS Excel formulas!

You get really especial Visio for 29$!

I find SQRTPI (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/vba/api/excel.worksheetfunction.sqrtpi) and IMSQRT (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/vba/api/excel.worksheetfunction.imsqrt) in Excel's Worksheet functions. But can't find them for Visio (http://visio.getbb.ru/images/ranks/visio_getbb_ru/huh.gif)

Oh for Pete's sake. The Alzheimer's is getting a lot worse. This happened in Excel, not Visio. My apologies.  :o :P :-\
