Title: Shape Variants?
Post by: Direscythe on June 26, 2020, 11:38:03 AM
Hi, I'm brand new; first post for me anyways ;). Is there a way to have user select one of two variants for one master shape from stencil? Both variants are already made but as separate master shapes; I would like to be able to assign them both as variants to one master shape, with either variant chosen on drop or selected after drop. If there is a way, please let me know. Thanks!

Yes, this is possible.  How new to Visio? Are you comfortable editing shapesheet?

Basically, for two shapes you need two geometry sections.  Then, add right click, action menu to facilitate toggling between the shapes.  The action menu would be configured to show/hide the geometry sections.

I'm newer than some to visio. I would be more comfortable with shapesheet if I could find the geometry section; how do I slay this dragon and find the geometry section of the shapesheet? My shape has geometries or I wouldn't see it in visio...
