Noob issue. Double click event on a shape works in edit mode, but not in presentation. What am I missing?
Missing nothing. There is no interaction like this available in Presentation Mode.

It was your suggestion (http://visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=8762.msg38407#msg38407) that the forum support a Like button. But after reading your reply here, I'd love to see a Dislike button so that I could click it. Visio's presentation mode is terrible! Aside from next page/prior page, the only thing it supports is hyperlinks. Guess I should be happy to does even that much. But I'm not.
Grumble, grumble,

Oh. Dislike button not good. That just too unfriendly!!!
I think Microsoft is wary of making it too PowerPoint-like, and haven't made too much of an effort, since...they have PowerPoint.
With older Visio versions, we used to have some scripts (maybe on this forum somewhere) that would remove the UI completely, so you could still have full Visio functionality, while looking like a presentation mode. You can collapse the Ribbon pretty easily.
I've always done my presentations in Visio, since that's where I create the visuals. Doesn't make a lot of sense to copy it into PowerPoint. Recently, they've added the Slide Snippets (https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/office/create-a-powerpoint-presentation-from-visio-e7da404b-4208-49d1-9518-6fe1a4723657?ui=en-us&rs=en-ie&ad=ie) feature which lets you jump around a diagram to pre-assigned regions, and the Diagram Navigation pane has just shown up as well (I literally just discovered it this minute!)
