Hello:
I am using "Visio Online".
My "Shapes" panel was missing this morning. I clicked on View -> Task Pane -> and my "Shapes" icon was already highlighted.
In explorer, I attempted to open a custom stencil file (*.vss) and it said it was already open.
It seems that Visio believes the shapes panel is open, i just cannot see it.
In another thread someone mentioned that their shape panel was off screen. They gave generic instructions to delete any registry key that was related to size and shape.
I am not so adventurous to randomly delete items in my registry!
By any chance does anyone know which HKeys relate the the location of the shapes panel in visio?
Or have any other suggestions to make my shapes panel visible again?
Thanks
Indy
you sure views or windows layout is correct?
Hi:
I am not certain what you mean by "correct" ?
if I close all windows and open a new blank visio document, I can open and see all my task panes except the "shapes" pane. I have attached a snip of my visio window if that helps at all.
Have a look in:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Visio\Application
key StencilDisplayModeInPlace
What value is it?
(The 16.0 may be different depending on your version of Visio.)
windows floating, windows tiled, etc
Hello Paul:
StencilDisplayModeInPlace = 1
StencilDisplayMode = 0
Hi Vojo:
All the visio panels are locked, not floating. I have tried many things including cascading my visio windows and searched my visio "area" for the shapes panel to no avail.
hmmm odd
in developer mode, check task pane?
upper left of the drawing, there should be a greater than or less than sign....click it to open stencil GUI
