Title: I just want some simple geometric shapes to use as subshapes
Post by: Visisthebest on February 07, 2020, 08:33:16 PM
In Visio 2019 when I add a rectangle and an ellipse to use as subshapes for a grouped shape, I notice that each of these subshapes have so many shapesheet sections and cells. (and just so many times the THEMEVAL() value everywhere). There's even 3D rotation properties, large line and fill gradient sections in the shapesheet. Is there a way to add rectangles/circle subshapes that are much more minimalistic, or does all this complexity not really slow down even a large diagram with several thousand shapes?

Your advice and insight in this is much appreciated!

you mean add a shape to an already group of shapes

If yes
- for group, go to behavior and set "accept shape on drop"
- for shape, go to behavior and set "add to group on drop"
Now when you move shape on top of group handles, it will add it to group

can right click group and shape to get to behavior UI

Last resort, turn on developer mode  File ==> option ==> bottom of the UI ==> select enable developer mode
Behavior is there as well.
