Title: Visio 2016 Measuring Tool Moves Walls and Objects
Post by: TisMAK on November 13, 2017, 09:03:48 PM
New to this site (a great find!) and to Visio 2016 (I have quite a bit of experience with Visio 2003).

I'm creating a Home Plan using Visio 2016.  When using the measuring tool to locate walls and other shapes, if the shape is not positioned on an integer increment, Visio moves the shape to the nearest integer.  Needless to say, this is not ideal in the real world of home construction!

How do I stop this frustrating behavior?  Thanks.

Don't have V2016, but sounds like you need to disable snap to grid and or snap to ruler.

Still no resolution on this issue - I'm working with Microsoft Pro Support. They can recreate it and are working on a fix.  While I'm waiting,  >:( I have no alternative but to revert to my old version of Visio Pro.

Questions - can I install Visio Pro 2003 on my Windows 10 machine?  Do I have to uninstall Visio Pro 2016 first?  Any other things to watch out for?

Thanks.
