Title: Grouped Shapes and Forward/Backward
Post by: celoranta on October 13, 2017, 10:38:08 PM
Probably a zillion entries on this already, but my search skills are not bearing fruit.

How are shapes within a group moved to the front/back of the group?

I have a group which represents the walls of a room in 'plan' view, with a door shape that can be moved around the perimeter.  The wall (Shape 1) is currently visible within the door jamb (of shape 2,) where I would like to represent a break in the wall.

I attempted to create a third shape (a white line) and make it track with the other shapes to 'white out' that area of the wall, but I cannot seem to get the white line to show 'above' the shape 1 geometry.

Best,

Chris

Hope this thread can help  Change Z-order of Shapes via ShapeSheet (http://www.visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=242.0)

Why not use the "Opening" shape?  That's what it's for.

Thanks Wapperdude.  I didn't even realize it existed.  I've been so involved in designing from the shapesheet I had never really explored the existing templates.

Typical of me, I'm afraid.  Much appreciated.

;D. Wish I could say I've never done that!
