Title: Visio 2016 Hierarchy with data
Post by: stvvso on January 17, 2017, 04:19:28 PM
Hello,

So I am new to Visio and I am trying to use Visio 2016 to create a site map/hierarchy of a planned SharePoint environment. I have the site info, child and parent, in Excel and would like to build a diagram off this data. I can use the Org Chart easily, but I can't change the shape choices to something simple like blocks without pictures.

Is there a way to get a hierarchy diagram from data without pictures or something org chart centric?

Thanks for the reply. So Visio has no ability to do this natively?

For automatic drawing always need some kind of extension.
One of these extensions - organization chart. There are MindMap, orgchart wizard.
Or you can make your own extension. In the simplest case - the one or two dozen lines of VBA.
