Title: Building a triple Angle Center Shape
Post by: RaHaN on September 09, 2016, 01:29:28 PM
Hi all,

I'm trying to build a shape based on the way the Angle Center shape (in Dimensioning - Engineering) works (I'm completely new to Visio, and using Visio 2016)

I have almost nailed it, but for the second and third Arcs (my trigonometry classes go waaaaay back ;p).

Here is how it looks like for now:

As you can see, everything is in place : it's behaving correctly in terms of geometry, except for the arcs lengths of the left-most and center Arcs (the whole thing is drawn from right to left). I know I'd have to deduct the first (right most) arc length from the second one, and the first (right most) and second (middle) arcs from the third (left most) arc for the lengths to be correct, but I can't seem to nail the formulas correctly :(

The first, right most angle arc, is described below on the ShapeSheet:

With the Scratch cells being:

So, basically, I'd have to input the correct formulas in the A2 cells of the Geometry7 and Geometry9 sections, which respectively describe the middle Arc and the left-most Arc:

I've been at it for hours, but it seems I'm missing something...

Is there anyone who could provide some help ? That'd be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks in advance!

So as usual, it's when I finally resort to asking help that I progress in my finding the correct solution to an issue :)

So for those interested, here is the correct for the middle Arc:

Still haven't nailed the third one (Geometry 9) though :/
