Title: Set an individual Template in Visio 2010 ?
Post by: skyerjoe on May 12, 2015, 08:47:44 AM
Is it possible to set an individual template in Visio 2010 for each draw Page (not sheet) ?

But the template have to be fix.

So when an Shapes will be added , it shouldn't overwrite the template form at the top of the Page.

Is it possible in Visio ?

best regards

Most probably that's called "Background page" in Visio?
You can have several background pages in Visio in one document, and apply those to each normal "foreground page" individually.

See more here how to use background pages in Visio:

video I've found on youtube:

Hello Nikolay,

Thnx for helping

The Problem with the Background is that if you do some insert operations and you add a second page ( not sheet) the shapes doesnt pay any Attention due to the Background.

The shape overlapped with the Background.

Is there any solution for it ?

It looks like I don't quite get the problem then.
Could you probably share a diagram or some screenshot to clarify what you mean?

Also, could you probably clarify what is a "sheet"?

Thanks, now it's clearer what you want to do.

As far as I can tell, it is not possible to achieve what you want the way you want it in Visio (or that could result in a complex custom solution development).
I would recommend to cancel this idea with "tile background" and "all drawing on a single page", and just stick to normal pages.
Anyways, that's the only use of pages.. To simplify navigation, you could use off-page references for example.

Hello Nikolai,

That's   bad news ...

Do you think that is possible with  VB-Macro  or sth like that ?

I think about to get an command when the background Begins ( Coordinates ) and then gaps then and insert it on the second page..

or are any third Party Tools out there to solve this ?

best regards

Hi Skyerjoe,
aren't you just looking for a repeating background?
I work a lot with drawings that extend over several printing pages.
I played a little bit with your drawing and got something close to what I think you need.
The page height is not correct yet - I messed this up, but the problem can be solved.
Have a look at the attachment.
