Title: View Shape Properties
Post by: avoda234 on April 01, 2015, 02:14:51 PM
Hello,

As a newbie with Visio :
I have a diagram with elements, I would like to see from which shapes they were dragged.
How can I view the elements properties (type of shapes)?

Thanks in advance!

do you mean:
I have a diagram with shapes, I would like to see from which stencil they were dragged.

In general you can't. Each shape may have a property Master which is based on the original shape that was dragged onto the page, the master name may tie up with a master in a stencil you have. But it might also be a stencil you don't have. Also, not all shapes have a Master. Or the shape may match more than one master among your stencils. The shape may mave a UniqueID which could help identify the shape, but not guaranteed.
If you open the Document Stencil you may find master shapes that have been used in your document. But there is not a 1:1 relation.
