Post by: novski on March 26, 2014, 03:37:49 PM
HI
Im concidering a strange Problem. My Shapes have some shape data and to export that data to exel i use the shape-report button under the review tab.
But since yesterday pressing this button does not open the dialog as normal. Instead it does nothing!
how can i fix that? Reinstallation does not fix it...
Thanks for any kind of help...

I can make it stop working by disabling all addins.
Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings -> Addins -> Disable all application addins
If thios is checked then this may be the problem.

Do you remember turning this off at some time in the past? It concerns me that this is so often the reason for things not working when people report a problem. I do wonder whether there is some other route to turning this off, e.g. some control key sequence or some error condition that affects this.

Thats what bothers me momentanly. I try to reconstruate that but it seams to be seldom.
What i can shurely state is that i was connected over VNP to a server.
The Server has my Visio file (.vsd) and my Shapes saved to different folders.
At that point i wasn't working but my file was open and  Autosave will save automaticaly every 10min.

To be able to Work its neccacary to deconnect the VNP and work on my Local Files. Because the connection is too slow...
So i made my VNP go offline and used the files i made offline available before with Windows tools.

Thats what i did. I deconnected VPN and then closed and reopend the file. What did not work because of a error inside the .vsd file. So i sent the file via e-mail to a colleague wich was able to open the file and re-save it. after sending it back to me i was able to open it as well, but wasn't able to export my shape data with the report...

A ICT Technican in my company says it can be that there are some settings saved in a localisation file that may be not synced well...
Strange, but now it works and im glad about that...
