Title: Solid Fill Hatch Patterns---From AutoCAD into Visio
Post by: andyhessler on February 21, 2014, 03:11:20 PM
Hello...
I'm wondering if anyone knows the correct way to import DXF/DWG files into Visio which have solid hatch patterns?  I can get line based hatch patterns to come in just fine when they're exploded into individual lines.  But, when I try to bring in solid hatch patterns...they seem to disappear when I convert the entity into a visio shape.  I could live with the individual lines...but they seem to take up a wicked amount of memory...and my file is getting huge.  Thanks for the help...

ok...
I may have solved my own problem.  Everything was actually importing and converting just fine.  However, the hatch pattern was coming in white!  So, it looked like it was just disappearing.  I tried it again with blue...and it was easier to work with.  (I was then able to change the fill color just fine in Visio).

Hi Andy,

I registered in this site just to thank you!

You solved my problem.

The steps I used:
1-Close all contours with JOIN in Autocad
2-Create fillable shapes with REGION in Autocad
3-Fill these regions with HATCH using SOLID color other than white
4-Save as 2007 DWG
