Title: Drop Down Lists
Post by: sigur on January 07, 2014, 04:37:55 PM
I have the drop down list created in the shape data. But how do I get it to transfer that text into the box when selected?

ie. Select "complete" in Shape Date box, but in the Status box in Visio it is still blank. Please see attached image.

Excel can do this, not sure if Visio can (not even with buttons/user forms etc.)

One could consider using the shape data tab or DOCMD(1312) on the double-click and having a fixed/variable list there to update the value.

looks like to need to asign the field to the drop down. select the drop down box, next go to the insert tab, select the field and when the field opens select shape data and then the field name that most likely be "Property1" hit OK - now select from the drop down and that selection should appear in the box.
