Hi
Not sure if this is a visio bug/issue. I have a Visio document with about 5 pages in it but when I open the document only 3 pages come up. I know I didn't delete them, in fact when selecting the file in 'my documents' folder I can view the missing page as it is shown as the preview. Also the file size did not change so it hasn't been deleted but the pages just seem to be hidden or lost somewhere? Any ideas??? I would appreciate some help!
Thanks, J
At the bottom to the left of the page name tags you will see the spage scroll buttons, try the scroll left buttons.
Else, menu Edit -> Go To -> Page
or menu View -> Drawing Explorer and look in the Foreground pages
Or, it could be that the pages have been made invisible.
I have a tool that can fix this (you can also write your own code to do the same)

Hi
Thanks for the quick response. I had tried those before, except for the drawing explorer and still no luck. I've also tried opening the file on another computer with Visio. Anything?
I would check the invisibility issue.
Paul,
Installed the utility and still not able to access that page although I still see it in my file preview. Is there any way I can send the file to you or one of the reports from the utility to get more assistance? Thanks again.
The address in my profile here is valid.

I don't understand what's happening in this diagram. It behaves 100% correctly for me, in Visio 2003 and 2007, all 4 pages are visible. Deleting the 3 pages that kinnear can see and emailing it back, kinnear can only see the stencil window.
Can someone else take a look? Kinnear will email the file (2.5Mbytes) to you.
Paul -- go ahead and forward it to me.
I thimk we need another volunteer or two to try this file (2.5Mbytes). I (in the UK) can see all 4 pages, two users (one in the USA, one in Canada) only see 3 pages. Ask nicely and the owner may send the file to you to try.
I looked at the file Paul forward'd :P (say that 3X as fast as you can) to me, both on V2003 and V2007, and in both cases, I only see 3 of the 4 or 5 pages. If I look at the file preview, it looks like there's another page present, but, the preview looks wrong -- like there's a giant screen TV present, only, wrong perspective view!
If all I do is save this file, that preview goes away, and the file size drops to ~1.5MB. Removing the 3 pages that I can see, results in about ~1MB file size, which looks to be all of the shapes on the Doc Stencil.
Checking the original file for contents:
File > Properties > Contents: only lists three pages.
Edit > Go to: only lists the same three pages.
View > Drawing Explorer > Foreground pages: only lists the same three pages.
It might be possible that these pages are hiding in a warehouse in Yakama, WA., USA. :o (Just kidding.)

Could you explain that for us non-US citzens? ???
;D
OK, but the explanation will be disappointing.
1st, to correct an error, it's Yakima, Wa. It is a real, out-of-the-way, non-descript, small place, in the north West, USA. These facts, plus the way the name sounds when spoken, make it ideal for the humor. No other significance.
2nd, "everyone" has experienced the "lost sock" syndrome. You know, doing the laundry, a whole bunch of complete pairs of socks, but, when the laundry is ready to be put away, invariably, a couple of socks have no mates! Where'd they go??? ??? The story line is that they end up in a giant warehouse in Yakima, Wa. ::) Say it.. Ya..keh..ma.. Emphasis on 1st syllable. It's not my story, but, is of some familiarity here in the US. OK, perhaps reasonably obscure.
So, says I, if socks can end up in Yakima, why not the lost pages??? Boo!!! >:( :o :-[
And that is that. ;)
If someone wants to send it to me, I will also try it (UK here too).

Marvellous!
A couple of ideas, I'm wondering whether it's the Plan addin that is hiding it somehow. It's long-shot time.
menu Tools -> Options -> Security
and turn off
a. Enable Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications
b. Enable Automation Events
This will disable all add-ons. Restart Visio and reload the diagram.
(Restore the settings after of course)
Is there something on page Main (the one you can't see that is causing a silent exception within Visio). I'll save a copy with all shapes from page Main deleted.
Go ahead and send the file to me too...
Paul had sent me a version of the file where he had removed all of the shapes from the main page, but left the page itself. This had two effects when I opened the file:
1> I could see all four pages, even though Main was blank
2> I could see all of the shape stencils! :o The original file, these did not show up, the only stencil available was the Document Stencil which had all of the shapes. :P
Crazy! Is it possible that one or more shapes on page Main is causing an exception within Visio that is preventing it from being shown?
