Title: Marketplace for Visio Stencils?
Post by: healthNut on August 28, 2012, 12:16:39 AM
Is there a place I put up stencils for sale? I tried looking at Office marketplace but it doesn't look like I can open up a storefront there:

There's certainly a good market for the right product at the right price. PLease have a look at my website for some examples:
http://www.sandrila.co.uk (http://www.sandrila.co.uk)

You will need a website, a good description of what you offer, samples that can be downloaded and installed, an eCommerce system to take payments for you and a download system so buyers can get their software immediately (th eCommerce provider may supp[y this).

The Office Marketplace seemed a really good idea, Microsoft had prepared it for expansion for markets in New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland and India, I was all ready to go ... then the whole Office Marketplacle got stopped. No more editing allowed, so now all my listings are out of date and showing incorrect information.

Thanks for the examples and the background on MS.

Damn The recurring expenses are starting to rack up:
-hosting
-ecommerce
-SSL
-credit card processing

Any particularly reason you picked payproglobal?
I did some research and Volusion seems to get better reviews.

Hosting needn't be expensive. Tens of £/year to get started. For the eCommerce you want a specialist provider for software sales, not a general purpose eCommerce provider, as you see, I use PayProGlobal. SSL - not required, credit card processing - not required - all handled on your behalf.
Volusion seem to be a GP eCommerce business - not suitable.
