I have a document stencil that has a lot of visio shapes that I have used on my 30 odd pages of computer rack diagrams. The age of the servers and switches used in the racks are quite old and new so none are easily found without a lot of searching.
I notice that there is a DOCUMENT Stencil created with each visio drawing.
Is it possible to sort the visio shapes in the document stencil alphabetically or any other way
???
The shapes can be rearranged manually by dragging them into the order you want.

So there's no way to order the shapes in a stencil alphabetically without having to manually sort them?
No Visio built-in feature that I'm aware of.

does "shape -> send to back" or "shape-> bring to front" order them in a way that you want ?

No, I'm referring to the order of the shapes within the stencil itself, not the drawing.
