Title: Cross Functional Flowchart Shapes Stencil
Post by: Carol2 on June 24, 2008, 03:12:02 PM
I was editing a personal stencil and this stencil was also attached to the template I was creating.  Today, when I try to drag an initial swimlane into any of my diagrams, it doesn't give me the framework for the title, etc.  It only gives me the actual swimlane itself (which is what it does for all the ones after the 1st one.)  I did not try to edit this stencil.  Help!  Am I hosed forever on this?  Thanks!

Hi Carol,

It's not really clear to me what the problem is.

Just to get terminology straight, in case that might be part of the misunderstanding: a stencil is the green palette from where you drag the shapes. A master is the icon on that holds a shape and sits on the stencil.

Maybe you can attach a screen shot? (click Additional Options... on the lower-left to attach)

I tried to attach 2 screen shots, but the 2 files were too big (I tried it once with them together and then split them - one was 123 KB the other 119).

I will post them in 2 separate postings and see if that works.

I had a personal stencil open for editing and I was going to put the swimlane shape in it, but decided not to.  Did I accidentally reset something behind the scenes that would always force that shape to be the single swimlane and not the frame with the title, etc.?

Thanks so much for your help.

Edit: images converted to .png and uploaded here. If you save images as .png files, they are only 80 KB each. You can do this with Paint, which comes with Windows
