Title: Enlarging selected area
Post by: duffsparky on June 06, 2011, 11:33:56 PM
Hi All,

I have drawn a floor plan using Visio 2007 and I want to insert an expanded view of a selected area of the drawing within itself, but I can't find a way of doing it.

The shape of the selected area does not matter just as long as it contains all the detail shown within it. For example: Copy a certain area, paste it back into the drawing then resize it to show the selected area's content in more detail, in other words, insert an expanded view of a small part of the drawing within itself.

I've tried using the crop tool but that only allows cropping of whole shapes not part shapes.

Any assistance would be most welcome.

Thank you,

duffsparky.

I think the only way you'll achieve that is to convert your Visio page into an image then select and crop the required area.

You might want to check out this thread --http://visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=914.msg4099#msg4099.  Near the end, JuneTheSecond does a real magnifying glass.  It might be adaptable -- or at least a screen capture that could be pasted ???
