Title: Bolt inside coil spring and hidden lines - is there a trick?
Post by: David.P on August 11, 2010, 09:56:22 AM
Hi forum,

I was wondering if there was a trick to put something inside a coil spring shape whithout having to destroy the "shapeness" of the spring (i.e. change to a group and cut lines all over the place):

Any tricks?

Thanks already,

Or (in this easy case) you could create the yellow and red shape (see picture 1). Use the yellow from one loop to another.
Make the red one with adjustable length and use it for the ends.

If you want fun, try sth. like in picture 2. Object inside spring inside spring inside spring.
It was made created with placing one spring above the other and then doing it again in reversed order, while clipping away offending sections in geometry sections of each spring by replacing ArcTo rows with MoveTo.

That's great ideas, thanks guys.

I like the one that keeps the "springness" and "shapeness" of the spring, using the red and yellow shapes on top of it.

Thanks!
