Title: Hyperlinks in Visio wont work in protected word document
Post by: tania2412 on July 02, 2008, 12:16:12 AM
Using Visio 2007, I want to upload my visio document to our intranet in protected word document format but the hyperlinks no longer work when converted. Is there any way around this?

Hi Tania,

Word format? It's a Visio diagram! :)

I guess you copied the Visio bits and pasted them into a Word document, at which point the Visio data is an "embedded object". Users have to double-click the embedded Visio to activate it. If your Word document is protected, this option might not be available.

Maybe you could save the Visio diagram as a web page (File > Save As Web...) and upload the output to your internet? The hyperlinks will survive this process better.
