Title: +++Visio 2013 creating a fillout form using textboxes+++
Post by: cpin on January 08, 2016, 11:15:06 AM
Hi there

In Visio 2013, I would like using "user defined cells" in order to share the content of a textbox to other textboxes on other pages -> for example text cells on the title page which we use as fillout form)

After practicing a while I do not get ahead ..  ::)  Actually i want it like on Excel, where you can easily type "= A5". into a random cell in order to get the content of A5

Does anyone have a hint for me?

best regards
Pinch, Visio newbie

In this post I used a technique similar to what you're asking for - however not over other pages.

Hi Yacine

Thanks for the information so far. I tried your way... but still no text sharing possible.   :-\
I really thougt that I'm well trained on office stuff, then I started using Visio yesterday and its horrible. I would be nice to get an example page to check it on my visio.

cheers

Working with "texts" is one of the more illusive Visio tasks.

Not quite as simple as Excel, but, using Insert Fields ought to work.  Let's you choose from a variety of input sources, including custom.  You will need to create custom sources because your referencing info on different pages.

See this reference on how to create your "formulas":  https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa200961(office.10).aspx (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa200961(office.10).aspx)
