Good evening guys,
after upgrading from Visio 2003 to 2007 we noticed that the colours in our old drawings changed.
Obviously because of V2007's themes.
Even when having no theme selected.
Is there a way to set up a "V2003" theme to apply to these old drawings?
I mean other than working out which colour number was associated with which colour?
Ideally a configuration file or a macro?
Sorry Yacine, I don't have a solution for you, but, I have to laugh...not at you, at Microsoft and Visio.
Why would you think that theme colors should be consistent from one generation to the next? Duh! Maybe MS isn't convinced it's a serious or beneficial feature? Nah!
Anyway, it's a shame that upgrading causes so much grief!
;D
Hi Yacine,
I don't have any current installs of 2003. Do you have any before and after samples you could attach?
Best regards
John
Hi John,
No, we haven't any 2003 left. And the before / after samples would be probably the same. It's the way Visio interprets the colour numbers that matters.
I'll probably have to a picture of the 2003 palette and try to work it out.
On the other hand, don't invest too much in this issue, I suspect my colleagues to have recoloured most of the drawings by hand already. (Didn't get any more complaints the last days). May be they just got accustomed to the new colours?
Hi, So what are the formulae in the changed color cells? I'd be surprised if the the conversion changed the indexed color palette, but it would be interesting to see what the new formulae are.
Best regards
John
