Exporting/Importing Layers

Hi,

I have a large, complex, multi layered diagram that I would like to enable a number of people to work on. Each person would be responsible for details on a seperate layer.

Is there any way with visio to export and then import layers into a diagram?

e.g. Take a dagram showing a building plan, Layer 1 contains the walls, Layer 2 contains the electrical details, Layer 3 contains the plumbing details. I would like to be able to give Layers 1 & 2 to the electrical engineer and Layer 1 & 3 to the plumber - allowing them both to add details to layers 2 & 3 respectively, when they have done I would like to be able to import all the parts back into a single 3 layed diagram?

Hi,

The layers may be copied, if you copy or drag the shape that is belong in the layers.
A shape may have multiple layers.
