Area selection in Visio 2010

I often need to insert items into Visio .. usually jpeg .. but they could be other formats.

Once I have done what I want it would be good if I could use a section tool to select part of this .... i.e. area selection then using cut & paste to put this into a new VISIO doc of into Word or whatever.

Currently I have to export whole doc as a jpeg open in paint use the area selection tool .. cut out the area I want and then paste into VISIO ... would have expected VISIO to have this basic crop functionality by now ?     am I just missing it somehow ?  as its such a common task.

Why don't you use the crop tool?
