Hi all,

I have created custom templates and I have some questions for integrating them into Visio 2010.
I have added the path with the new templates in the menu options, now the new templates are visible, when Visio is starting.

My questions are:
1. How can I change the name of template, which is shown at the startup page (see attachted screenshot), but without changing the name of the file? I tried to change the title in the file properties, it has no effect. It seems so that Visio is using the file name. But the standard templates in Visio have other names than the file names, how is this done?

Here an example: The Visio-template for "Prozessflussdiagram" (thats german, I dont know the name in english) has the file name "PEDG_M.VST".

2. How can I acces this nice preview images of visio? Because I want use them fo my own templates.

To add a preview image to your template, just last week I created this article explaining the process:
http://www.sandrila.co.uk/articles/visio-articles/adding-template-preview/

For adding the templates in the forst place and setting their name, the best route is to get them installed correctly, these days that is via a .msi file. I'm in the process of creating a new article about this subject, but for now I'd suggest installing the following software:
1. WarSetup3
2. InstEd
3. Visio Solution Publishing Tool

Item 3 is installed from the Visio SDK.

P.S. Using this procedure will avoid having to set the templte path in the options.
P.P.S.  "Prozessflussdiagram" = Process flow diagram"
