I would like to use x-y-data (2 columns) + a shape identifier I have stored in Excel in Visio.
If I remember correctly, ancient versions of Visio could read and write .csv files with the geometry
of the shapes. Is there any way of doing this with Visio 2010? Is an import wizard available anywhere.
I have searched the web, but I only found ways of importing data connected to shapes,
but not the shape geometry itself.

I even could live with copy and paste between Excel ranged and Shapesheet Geometry ranges,
but it seems impossible to select more than one cell on a shapesheet.

csv import was dropped (I believe) in v2007 (might have been earlier). I guess (technically) x+y data isn't geometry since it is in the basic shapesheet rather than the geometry section. The easiest way would be to have your 'shapes' modified as custom shapes where pinx and piny get their data from a referenced shapedata property and then take advantage of datalinking (v2010 pro or above).
