Hi everybody,
Could anybody help me to understand why in unpredictable case some of my shapes is showing [OBJ] instead of data (last print date in this example) ?

Hi Paul,
I realize that the request was not understandable.

I've attach the broken shape.
it's a copy-paste from a file with hundred of sheets.

This shape is instantiated in a BackPage.

sometime when you open the file, the print_date disappears from the shape and becomes this "[OBJ]" text.
I have to delete the shape and instantiate it again until the next time...

That is just a text character, what would be more useful is to post a document that contains the print date field, i.e. before it has gone wrong.

Paul,
In the document stencil, the shape is named "Non-control warning A4", if you drag-drop this shape from the document stencil, it's ok, you have the last print date.
Question is why for time to time there is discrepancy between the shape in the drawing and the master in the document stencil.

Paul Herber

The shape name means nothing to me. There's no way to see what is happening without the document.

Paul ,
I cannot send you a 200 sheet doc. so i'll close the subject.
for me there is no answer, I will deal with that, just deleting the shape in the doc when this append, and drag-drop it to get the last-print date appears again.

Do you have any other code associated with the solution?  The DOCLASTPRINT function appears to exist is the master (and subsequent instances) ok, but it's not clear how the formula got wiped but left the empty field.  If it possible that the text for the shape was edited in some way or are the files stored in xml (vdx) format?

Best regards
