Hi,
I have search many other forums but wasn't able to get an answer, and thought that this would be a good one to ask here.
I have a site plan with shapes on it and I want to export/transfer all the shapes from Visio to a GIS software. Now this can be any GIS software so basically I would like to create a database with coordinates of all the shapes.
I know you can convert Visio to DXF and then DXF to any GIS software but I want to skip the DXF step and want to know if at all is it possible to go from Visio to GIS database.
Have any of you came across anything that might be relevant to this topic?
Any help on this is really appreciated.
Regards,

I think I understand what you are asking for. There is a plug in that will print the Shape Sheet to an Excel file.
VisioSDK32bit.exe
I attached an example.
Once loaded the function "Print Shape Sheet" lives in the developer tab ribbon. You simply select either the shapes or the entire doncument if you wish. This saves the clipboard. Next paste to an Excel page
I use it quite often.
Good Luck
The master for using visio with maps (gis data) is David Parker. He has some interesting posts on his site
