Good day.

Many months ago I downloaded  template from Microsoft and used it to create a network diagram.  I don't recall any special box/options/questions when I saved the file I was working on, but now every time I open up Visio it loads with this generic network diagram.  What I've tried:

1)  Went into options and turned on Getting Started Screen.  This did not resolve it.  I've tried toggling on and off several times, no effect.
2)  Did a repair install - no change.
3)  Cleared the template and hit save, it then prompted me for a save location.  (I was hoping it would just overrite whatever file it is loading and start with a blank slate each time).  No such luck.

Where do I go from here, as this is extremely annoying.

Thanks,
Jason

There was a Post here, maybe half a year ago. Can't find it, so no direct Link.

It had to do with an Autosave or Recovery file, that somehow crashed and now Visio wanted always to start with that crashed file to "repair" it.

Thanks!  That got me looking at least in the right area.  I never found the post, but this does work:

Navigate to :  %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Visio

Delete th file "autorecover.ini"

Visio works like it should now.
