Title: attaching a text block to a dimensioning rule
Post by: jebuxx on September 11, 2017, 03:05:47 PM
Hello, I would like to attach a text block to the dimensioning rule. I have attached a PDF showing this.
The dimensioning rule size is entered on another tab of an entry page I call it. Right now it is set at 3" of course. If I change the size the 5.5" the dimensioning rule moves accordingly. I need the text block to do the same while attached to the vertical rule line.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you don't mind having the line in front of the text, then convert the dimensioning shape to a group, open it and insert the text block at the desired position.

Otherwise: draw a line and convert it to a group. Insert the dimensioning shape. Add as many control points as the dimensioning shape has. Attach the control points of the dimensioning shape to those of the parent. And at the very end add the label on front of the dimensioning shape.
