Question:
Which version of Visio shows stencils to their best advantage?
Option 1: Visio 2003
Option 2: Visio 2007
Option 3: Visio 2010
Option 4: all of them!
Option 5: none of them!
I asked this question of a few friends last week, whilst looking at one of my websites at:
http://www.sandrila.co.uk/visio-bowtie/ (http://www.sandrila.co.uk/visio-bowtie/)
which currently shows the stencils as seen from Visio 2003/2007 and 2010.
Which version of Visio do you think shows stencils at their best?
Before I vote, let me say this, I think, in general, there is a progressive improvement with each release. It is nice to see all of the shape name as provided by 2010. However, the cost is the size of the window. That means, less drawing window area. So, 2007 looks to be a decent compromize: smaller window, wraps text when possible to show more title, truncates text as last resort. Problem with 2003, it always truncates the text, sometimes, not enough text shows to give you a good distinction between names that have identical beginnings. You can always "hover", but, that tends to be a little slow.
Now, I will vote.

Now I understand why nobody votes in these polls, once you get a few messages going in the thread the poll disappears up at the top of the page and it gets lost!
Might be better to just show the stencil images here!
Visio 2003 -> (http://www.sandrila.co.uk/visio-bowtie/stencils/visio2003/bowtie_stencil_us.png) Visio 2007 -> (http://www.sandrila.co.uk/visio-bowtie/stencils/visio2007/bowtie_stencil_us.png) Visio 2010 -> (http://www.sandrila.co.uk/visio-bowtie/stencils/visio2010/bowtie_stencil_us.png)
An exact reply to your question would be V2010, but otherwise I would agree with W.
