All these questions lately about backgrounds, masking and templates made me think of an old promise I made my kids: to draw the bed time stories, we used to invent.
They are about 2 bored alien boys, Schlipp and Schlopp, which visit us and have adventures with my boys. All the stories have the same intro: "in a galaxy far far away..." and while telling the intro, the ideas begin to flow and you can include both funny, entertaining and "educative" themes.
As aliens, Schlipp and Schlopp have of course all sort of sophisticated stuff to travel in imaginary worlds. So there are no limits to your imagination.
So far for the introduction.
Starting point of the comic strip is the layout. A page frame sets the margins of the page.
The strips are set up by a 1-D shape, configurable from 1 to 6 tiles. The shape can be arranged horizontally or vertically. As 1-D shape it snaps neatly on the connection points of the frame.
The tiles's width is set up using control points. That helps arranging them relatively to other strip tiles.
The actors are still primitive groups. There's room for improvement.
...and the visio file...
some graphical explanation...
Windows art? :-\ ??? ;D
Sweet!
Very cool!
I wonder if Visio 2010's containers will help with this kind of organization?
I agree with the two previous replies......very cool
Stefan
Thank you guys,
I appreciate very much. It made me "work" harder.
So here's the next page and almost the end of the introduction.
I promised to work on the actors. This version is almost practicable.
The layout shapes needed improvement
Does anyone have an idea how I could realise this panel in a smart way, with formulas, so you can configure it easily?
Cool, Great and Smile! :) :) :) :) :)
Your characters are great, your presentation is great, now we're waiting for the next installment.
Come on Mom!
So Wayne,
this one is specially for you. But, you go right to your bed after reading. ;)

So far for my artistic ejaculations,
my Youngest didn't agree with the end of the last posted pic. He answered graphically...
Hah, hah, hah, very funny, Yaccine :D
Good job! Your kids are 2 years older than they were at the time you posted your comic. I'm sure they're drawing their own comics by now.
At least the youngest does ... but on his smartphone.
Couldn't get him to Visio yet.
