Title: Flowcharting a For Next Loop in Visio
Post by: jdshelton on December 13, 2010, 04:30:52 PM
I had some software designers ask me how to depict a for loop. Not being a programmer I am not sure how to show this. Anyone have any thoughts?

It depends on how elemental your flowchart is. I guess the example on the left of the attached illustration does the job.

I used to use a shape called a "Loop Limit" (which seems to have disappeared in Visio 2010) to do it, but I was just going off of its name, and not from any standard that I had seen. That's shown on the right in the illo.
