Getting Started with Visio

I have a basic familiarity with Visio but do not own the software. What is the best version to get started with and where can I find the best price?

Obviously the latest and greatest Visio 2010 is the one to go for, see the recent article about which version (Standard, Pro or Premium), Visio 2007 may still be in the shops and will (along with Visio 2003) be available on eBay etc.
I dare say someone from your part of the world will be along soon to tell you where to get the best prices.
(but, hold on there, nobody knows where you are!).
